SEA! WALK! – Juanita Elementary crossing guards help mark 100th Avenue Project completion

Student crossing guards from Juanita Elementary were on hand to help the City of Kirkland celebrate the completion of the 100th Avenue Northeast Corridor Improvements Project with a Blue Friday ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 12. This project delivers safer, more efficient travel for all by adding sidewalk-level bike lanes, wider sidewalks, upgraded utilities and modernized traffic signals. Along with the Juanita Elementary students, community members joined the festivities, which included a walk to the new HAWK crossing for photos with Seahawks mascot Blitz. These improvements stem from years of planning and will help students and families in Lake Washington School District enjoy a safer experience walking, biking and using transit throughout the corridor.
